(September 29, 2017)–Restore Rehabilitation President & CEO, Pamela Anthony, has been selected as one of the Business Insurance 2017 Women to Watch. Business Insurance started the Women to Watch awards program in 2006 to recognize women leaders doing outstanding work in risk management and commercial insurance. The awards will be presented at our Women to Watch leadership conference and gala awards luncheon December 14-15 in New York.

The award evaluated candidates based on their accomplishments, expertise, and leadership. Excerpts from each section of the nomination form are below.

“She believed she could, so she did. Restore Rehabilitation’s Founder/CEO and Women to Watch Nominee, Pamela Anthony RN BSN CDMS CCM, was so confident in her case management vision for Restore that she took a second mortgage on her own home when denied a business loan to fund the company. Restore Rehabilitation was born in the basement of her own home, June 12th 2006 in Owings Mills MD…Fast-forward 11 years later, and Pam’s vision has blossomed into a national boutique company headquartered in Owings Mills, MD. In a country where 20% of small business’ fail in their first year, and 50% do not make it past the 5th year of operation, Restore has grown from 2 employees in a basement to 215 employees with two floors and 9,800 sq footage of office space.”

“One of the most attractive elements of Pam’s leadership to her core group of employees, case managers, is that she remains humble. Though now a Principal/CEO/President, she remains a case manager at heart and does not forget the daily struggles they experience. Whether it is juggling multiple appointments, long travel days on the road, or meeting the expectations of demanding clientele, she undeniably leads with understanding. Examples of this would be hiring ample administrative staff to help support the nurses, keeping internal practices simple, and making the financial decision to give all of her employees an additional PTO holiday to spend more time with their families. Lastly, she remains very active in the oversight of all operations and sales, to ensure her vision is being lived and practiced by her employees each day: Dedicated to providing responsive, effective case management solutions with integrity. Always.”

“Pam desires for every employee and customer to feel like her top priority. A primary goal in a strong leader is the desire to mentor and create new leaders from one’s experience. Pam has accomplished such, with five out of six employees in her executive leadership circle emerging from no prior case management experience, to key individuals assisting in the daily running of Restore. As a female President and CEO, Pam is a role model for other women both in and outside of the industry. The  company is currently comprised of 91% women employees, while 75% of the leadership and supervisory team is led by women. Even within a female dominated industry, this high percentage of women in leadership roles displays her dedication to employing and empowering talented women.”
